The first real chance fell to Everton, on the counter-attack Graham Stuart scampered towards goal, with only the keeper to beat, his shot cannoned of the crossbar, the ball rebounded out to Rideout, and he did extremely well to head the ball in the net, with Steve Bruce and Peter Schmeichel guarding the line.
